The dealership owner Mr Johnston said that the car had turned out to be “exotic” in the worst possible way. When it was taken off for its first customer drive, the co-owner Ernest Johnston drove the car all of 10 blocks with a prospective buyer when the oil light came on. He added that they had been trying to get it fixed ever since, but the Mercedes folks have refused to stand behind the car as promised in our contract. The company cannot sell the car in its current condition! It now represents nearly $2 million of scrap metal! Toyota executives are currently in talks to revive the sports-car lineup! Mr. Tokuo, an official based in France, Fukuichi said that the new Toyota sports car model is going to be a global project. Meanwhile, Shinzo Kobuki, the managing OIC of development of hybrid systems, said that the automaker is aiming to produce sporty cars to compete with German luxury automakers (Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi). As is known, Toyota has been criticized for being the last major car maker without a trophy sports car. Last year, Toyota unveiled a hybrid sports car concept (the Volta) designed together with the legendary Guigiaro of Italdesign. It was later renamed as the ‘Priapus’.Rather akward name… The Volta-Priapus featured a stunning design, a powerful V-6 engine with electric motor providing 408 horsepower, 0-60 mph acceleration in 4 seconds, and 30 mpg fuel economy. A prototype of Ford’s forthcoming 2008 F350 Super Duty was caught by spy photographers at World Car Fans. It was parked side-by-side with a 2006 model. After a few undisguised shots back in April of Ford’s Super Duty, the automaker has put the truck back under wraps, possibly hiding some additional revisions. Even with the disguise, we can see that the next-generation 2008 Super Duty gets a bigger, bolder grille, bigger stacked headlights and a lower bumper than the current model.
