The CLK adds a sporty lustre to the C-class family, and is a licence to print money for Mercedes. It is a tad cheaper to produce than an identically equipped four-door, yet its premium price yields around $10,000 more revenue per car.

The bigger CLK speaks the same funky design language as the forthcoming C- and E-class models. The details are far more modern than today’s two-door, from the split, angular headlamps to the character line running along the side. The rear window dips slightly into the more muscular side panels. Again, there’s no middle pillar and the windows are frameless.

After the long drawn out gestation period Audi first ever mid-engined sports car is finally here. With the multitude of concept car and spy shot info that has been circulating the net for months now, there isn not anything really new to add. Sales of the new car will start in the first half of next year for the both the US and Europe with prices ranging from $80,000 and $110,000.

This will put the Quattro AWD R8 up against the likes of BMW’s M6 and the Porsche 911, this one however is based on the Lamborghini’s Gallardo platform and features a high-revving V8 from the RS4 developing 420hp. The 0-62mph dash will be around 4 seconds with top speed up around 185mph. Transmission options include either Audi’s R tronic sequential-shift gearbox (similar to Lamborghini’s EGear) with a joystick gear-shift on the center console and steering-wheel mounted paddles or a conventional six-speeder.

Lotus has yet to name the newcomer, but it will debut in December 2009. Before the car takes a bow, two unexpected new models will debut. First will be a Proton Satria-based hot hatch. The Malaysian motor has been developed with the aid of Lotus’ handling experts, but the UK firm will offer its own much revised version with a huge performance hike. Likely to wear Lotus Satria badging and promising to be even faster than Proton’s own Satria GTi, it will arrive in May 2008. This will be followed in December by a mid-range Lotus. Details are closely guarded, but it will sit between the fresh Europa S and Esprit successor.
