The Iran Khodro’s plants where just recently Mercedes SUVs have been constructed will be forwarded to the russian GAZ. The cost of the parts to GAZ will make more than $ 200 million next 2 years.

The GAZ group official stated that Iran Khodro is planning to build a few new plants to construct russian SUVs.

The press-release says that GAZ signed a contract with Iran Khodro Diesel to supply GAZ SUVs. The agreement foresees export of the russian cars to Iran for 3 years for summingly $ 200 million.

The first group of GAZs is planned to be sent to Iran in the beginning of the next year. It will make 5 000 sets. “Minibuses, taxis and vans will be consctructed from these sets” - the GAZ official stated. Up to now Mercedeces of this class have been constructed in Iran.

Edmunds.com has released the results of the poll held among the readers who chose the most expected vehicle in 2007.

This award is annually given to a vehicle which is able to stand out in a crowd of comepeting cars from other manufacturers.

So the fact that the award has been given to Toyota Tundra is even more paradoxal: the car has beaten a huge Mercedes GL which has just been selected the americal all road vehicle of the year! “It is no wonder. They love pickups in the US” - you might say. The car is as far from the ideal as polar tundra from the USA. Toyota has tried to launch Tundra for a couple of times already but the car has significant safety troubles.

Tundra cannot be an example of quality. Even the previous version of it was the best ride to drive the autoservice, but not an inch farther.

Forbes magazine published a list of the “best cars” another time. But this time the list has not a very pleasant topic - the most unreliable luxury class vehicles.

It’s hard to guess what this list is based on. Forbes itself refers to Consumer Reports and “expected reliability“. It’s true that even the most expensive cars sometimes break down. Here is the list:

Land Rover LR3 (also known as Discovery) is a good car. Nevertheless it leads on the list.

The bigger Discovery’s brother Range Rover occupies the second place.

The third place is taken by Lincoln Navigator. The car is bigger than its competitors from Britain, but only the bronze for Lincoln this time.

A guest from Sweden Saab 9—3 also spends more time being repaired than on the road.

The last car on the list is Volkswagen Touareg. It is a surprising encounter. Nevertheless Forbes decided this car was unreliable
