USA federal authorities may force GM to recall more than 7 million vehicles.

This recall can involve more than 7.5 million trucks, vans and land-rovers. Timothy and Gloria Owen brought in an action agains GM. They accuse the company of low quality windscreen wipers, which refused to work in their 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe during a storm.

The Owen spent $ 92 to repair the wipers in 2004. The couple is sure that they were not alone dealing with this problem.

In 2003 GM recalled about 1.7 million vehicles to change the bloc that controls windscreen wipers. The Owens claims that these defective wipers caused 11 car accidents and were the cause of 225 000 guarantee cases.

GM officials refused to comment on the situation.
