Though there are lots of auto awards of all kinds the world saw another one last week. The awards though not very serious nevertheless is very interesting: Ten Worst Automobiles Today (TWAT) Awards.  The organizer is The Truth About Cars (TTAC) web-site.

The voting will be held in the Internet. Moreover the rules had been published beforehead:

• The cars must be on sale in the USA since January 1, 2006. The price, manufacturer and country do not matter.
• The list of the participating cars is flexible, it means that cars can change according to the on-line voting.
• Tuned cars are considered to be one model.
• 20 cars pass to the final stage, where only 10 are chosen. The best 10 will be chosen according to the voting and likes and dislikes of the comitee.
• Multiple votes from one IP adress is possible.
• The final 20-car list will be released as soon as it is complete.

During the first week the list of 115 cars had been formed. Here is the top 10 of that list:

1. Jeep Compass
2. Subaru B9 Tribeca
3. GM Minivans (joint)
4. Toyota Camry
5. Chevy Impala
6. Chevy Monte Carlo
7. Chrysler Sebring
8. Chevy Aveo
9. Chrysler Aspen
10. Hummer H2

It is no wonder that Jeep Compass is leading the list. This car has already got unfavourable comments in the press due to the strange appearance and inability to cope with even not very hard terrains.

But the forth place of Toyota Camry was a little bit of a sensation. The comments say that the car has not a brilliant design: “a poor attempt to match Chris Bangle”. Another surpise came form the 2nd place of Subaru B9 Tribeca. The arguments against the car are bad design and poor quality.
