Audi is planning to add another sportcars to its line, which at the moment includes Audi TT and R8. The new R4 will compete with Porsche Cayman and Boxter.

The basic model will be equipped with 200 hp engine. It is expected that audi will provide alternative 280 hp and 350 hp engines. Thr car will cost from 40 000 euro. The novelty is going to be produced from aluminiun and steel. The constructors say it is going to weigh about 1179 kg. Audi will manufacture 35 000 coupes and rodsters. The car is planned to appear on the marker in 2010.

Audi will create R4 in collaboration with Seat, which is also planning to create a similar vehicle under its label. Seat’s auto which will be available only in coupe body will cost approximately 30 000 euro. There will be built about 6 000 cars.
