What must an ideal car for a woman be like? The answers to this question differ greatly. But here is the most universal collective pattern. And to make it more complete a few opinions of male drivers were included.

Appearance

Men’s point of view.

As appeared male drivers think that an ideal car for a woman should be compact and elegant. 90% are convinced that it’s a small car (European B and C class), stylish and outstanding. Body - 3-door hatchback, because ladies often drive alone (or with a friend or a baby), so they don’t need “unnecessary” doors. Only one respondent told he wanted a huge jeep for his wife to be safe in case of a road accident.
Men think that women’s car should be of distinctive appearance (yellow or red for example). Men also decided that such a car should possess strong bumpers.

Women’s point of view.

Female drivers agreed with men that a car should be handsome. They meant a car should be bright, because beauty is a matter of taste. But a car may not be a small one. Women who are driving for more than 3 years do not necessarily need a tiny vehicle. When you you are an experienced driver the size of your ride doesn’t matter. More than one third of the  female respondents said they wanted to possess a cross-country vehicle.
As for the color women are unanimous to that problem: more than a half respondents voted for a red car. The second place is taken by yellow (golden, lime). Nevertheless some ladies stated they wanted a black car. Not a single woman mentioned anti-crash bumpers and other devices which the men had talked about. The idea of careless driving among women didn’t find support.

Saloon

Men’s point of view.
The second thing that matters (after appearance) for men in a women’s car is the saloon of a car. Men traditionally think it should be comfortable. The wheel should be pleasant to touch and very ergonomic. The gear-box lever - easy to manage, the pedals - convenient and informative, and another important thing is the possibility to adjust the height of the driver’s seat. In the driver’s anti-solar peak there must be a mirror with illumination (it helps to avoid the change of the position of the main saloon rear view mirror). Though some men said that this mirror can probably distract attention from a road. The must be a special space for women’s shoes under the driver’s seat, and special space for small stuff (gloves, mobile phones) near the wheel. An automatic climate control with a digital display where the current temperature is shown would also be very useful. In general men share the point of view that the insights of an ideal vehicle for a woman should be reach.

Women’s point of view.

The women were way more practical. One of the main desires was a high-quality driver’s seat (made from leather or velour) and of course vertical and horizontal regulation. Practically all the women wanted to have a hydraulic booster of the wheel. The weren’t any special wishes about the size of the saloon, because in general children feel comfortable in average seats. The baggage section appeared to be not very important feature - modern business ladies do not carry tons of cargo. The thing all the women agreed to were the presence of a small mirror in the driver’s anti-solar peak. But if there would be no mirror all the women said that turning rear view mirror was out of question even in such a situation. Not all the women insisted on having climate control, mirror heating and other additional features. But all of them wanted the control panel to be clear and informative.

Technical Details

Men’s point of view.

A car for a women should differ from that for a man - all the men agreed to this fact. Men wanted female’s car to possess an engine under 1,5 liters. All the men mentioned an automatic gear-box as a necessity. Another useful feature is a Parktr?nic system which helps park a car. ABS, Traction control and anti-skidding systems would be useful for women to feel absolutely comfortable.

Women’s point of view.

The majority of the respondents wanted their car’s engine to be economical, but their didn’t mean little power. In general women wanted the engine to be powerful enough. What’s up to the gear-box only less experienced or not a frequently driving women insisted upon having an automatic one. The ones who were driving constantly said that whether the gear-box was be mechanic or automatic didn’t matter.
Additional systems like ABS or Parktr?nic are good but not necessary. Women said these systems were useful but the cost of the car would be much more significant.

Summary

Men’s point of view is something like that: a car for a woman should be bright, small, with an automatic gear-box, not very powerful. Ladies in their turn do not insist on small size and automatic gear-box. They agree that the vehicle should be bright. The most amazing thing is that women do not like powerless rides.
