At the ceremony of the international awards in the sphere of industrial desing, which took place in Tokio on October 25, 2006, a small city car “Mitsubishi i” received a Good Design Grand Prize 2006.

This prestigious international award which exists for 50 years already, is considered to be one of the best in the designer’s world. Anything from a rusty nail to a toilet cabin can win this prize. The only thing that matters is that it should be made with man’s hands and cover one of the 15 spheres of man’s activity.

The futuristic Mitsubishi i is quite an extraordinary vehicle, which came from the 2003 concept. A serial version appeared on the market in January 2006 and was received warmly by the Japanese. The thing is that the car is sold in Japan only. Although Mitsubishi is sure the novelty will win hearts and vallets of the europeans it is still unknown when the car will be devievered to Europe.
