citroends.jpgThe legendary Citroen DS for two decades occupied the first lines in magazines no matter if it was either a political or a sport event. In 1962 in became part of De Ghoul’s image: at the time of the attempt to kill the president, the car though was shot at didn’t go off the road and continued to move at the same speed. The car became a movie star.

With years (more than 1 450 000 cars were built within 20 years) DS’s design, technology didn’t get out fashioned. The spirit of the car is alive even today. It was transformed into C6 which will take its place among the business class vehicles (additional information about Citroen’s new concepts can be found here).

Citroen DS was created by Flaminio Bertoni - not just a designer, but a real sculptor and painter, the works by whom were exhibited at multiple displays and got lots of prizes. Bertoni created a unique shape, which on one hand was simply beautiful and on the other hand didn’t break any aerodynamic basics. The complete image of the car was completed in 1955. The Frenchmen called the car “deesse” which means “goddess“.
