While all the generations of European and Japanese designers try to create cars which will be popular and will differs greatly from their competitors, the Chinese car manufacturers find the way to create as many vehicles as possible and as cheap as it can be. That’s why now and then there appear copies of famous cars under unknown names. But in general sometimes the Chinese manufacturers try to be unique, though I wouldn’t say they do it properly.

Chery QQ copies in detail Daewoo Matiz, which is quite popular in the market. It is obvious why Chinese manufacturers tried to fill in the segment of costs below $ 10 000. The press-release says: “The design was simply copied from Daewoo GM”. It didn’t end up in court, though may be Chery pays GM certain percent from obtained money.

But Chery didn’t stop with Daewoo. Chery Tiggo is a complete copy of Toyota RAV4. The Chinese manufacturer even plans to exports the model in Europe. It would be quite money saving to buy a Chinese RAV4 for $ 16 500. And this could raise the sales.

A scandal trial case accompanied the production of Hebei Xin Kai Automobile’s SR-V X3, which was copied from Honda’s CRV. The Japanese manufacturer brought an action against Hebei Xin Kai Automobile, but it ended with nothing - the Peking court decided there was no violation of the copyright. It seems like China wants by no means to reduce the technological gap between then and Japan. In the end there was a time when the Japanese relied on the Chinese discoveries - it’s time to pay the bills.

The examples of scot-free plagiarism inspired other car manufacturers. A few days ago Shangai Maple showed Marindo 506, which is suspiciously similar to Cadillac style.

The latest example of copying awakes mixed emotions. It is a mutation with the head of Mercedes CLK and the tale of Renault Megane CC. It is just the way the cabrio F8 from the Chinese manufacturer BYD looks like. It’s hard to imagine that the Germans will put up with the usage of the famous front lights’ design.

The unknown Chinese corporation CMEC created Electric City Spirit, which carries an electro engine and costs about $ 4 000. But DaimlerChrysler decided to put the end to it and through the court they permitted the Chinese manufacturer to produce Smart-like vehicles.

To sum up, the common fact is that the USA loses $ 24 billion from the Chinese piracy.
