Volkswagen itself has quite a big experience building SUVs, moreover Porsche specialists will be able to cope with the task (Porsche owns 29,9% share of VW).According to the prerelease data the new SUV, which will be shown in 2009-2010, will be built on Cayenne/Volkswagen Touareg’s platform. Nevertheless the car will possess a 5,0-litre 500-550 hp V10 engine. Beside a petrol engine the new Lamborghini might get a diesel engine. Not an ordinary one, but 6,0-litre 500 hp V12 from Audi.

Nevertheless Lamborghini’s first priority is super cars, which a very popular among tuning companies, for example Hamann tuned Lamborghini Gallardo

Lamborghini was the first sport car manufacturer to start building SUVs. But the model LM002 failed to succeed (the car was produced from 1985 till 1991).
