vwtiguan.jpgAt Los-Angeles motor show VW showed the pre serial prototype of a new compact crossover, the serial version of which will be called VW Tiguan. The Concept Tiguan differs from the serial version by a more distinct appearance and exclusive insights.

The first VW’s crossover got really compact - its length is 4,4 meters, width - 1,85, and height - 1,69 meters (which is almost the same as VW Touran). At the same time the car has quite a long cowling, massive wheel arches and very expressive front end design.

The car differs from the serial version by a bright coloring, anti fog lights and 19-inch rims with unique 2-color tires.

Moreover, VW Concept Tiguan is equipped with a diesel engine (a new line of ecologically safe engines were created in collaboration with Mercedes and Audi). The peculiarity of the engine is that it uses a special substance Bluetec (urine bases) which neutralizes up to 90% of harmful products of the exhaust gases. The engines come under the name Clean TDI, and VW plans to equip all the cars for the North America with such engines.

VW decided to draw the audience’s attention to vans, they created a real house on wheels (VW California)

The premiere of VW Tiguan will take place in 2007, and its serial production is to start at the end of 2007. VW promised to publish additional info and price list in a while.
