Mazda is working on a new generation of Mazda2 for the European market. Mazda is creating the car in collaboration with Ford.

Thus the car will be built on Ford Fiesta’s platform and will greatly differ from the previous generation. It is expected that the new car will be totally created by the European headquarters of Mazda, while the previous generation was just a copy of Mazda Demio (the car was for the local market only).

While Mazda is working on Mazda2, Ford specialists conduct Ford Focus RS road tests.

As seen from the pictures the novelty will have more rounded shape, but unfortunately the main design features are hidden under the camouflage, which doesn’t allow seeing the new Mazda2 in detail.

This could be the probable appearance of the car, which is to make its debut in summer 2007.
