Firefly (”Petrel”, 2004)
An extraordinary car under the name Firefly resembles a military vehicle, but according to its coloring you can see it’s a fire vehicle. Possessing a huge scoop on the front end, the car crashes everything on its way; nevertheless the car’s major function is taking down fires.
FAB I (”Petrel”, 2004)
Ford Thunderbird inspired the film makers to create a Lady Penelope’s limousine. FAB I was created by the European Ford’s group. In the movie lady Penelope uses the car to save the world when all the other means are helpless. FAB I can move on the ground, water and in the air, in which foldable wings help.
Jaguar XKR (”Die, but not Now”, 2002)
The film “Die, but not now” was released in 2002 and it was the 20th “Agent 007″ film. Bond got Aston Martin again. But this time the car played much more sufficient part: Zao drove Aston as well. The car was equipped with a machine gun which was installed behind the front seats so that the bullets fly right over the driver’s head.
Daimler DS 420 Limousine (”Ocean’s 12″, 2004)
This noble Daimler appears in the movie when Julia Roberts is at the airport in Rome. In reality DS 420 was premiered in 1958, right after the unification between Jaguar and Daimler. The car has a 4,2-litre engine and can drive up to 9 people.
Saracen Tank (”Judge Dred”. 1996)
Though the vehicle looks very futuristic, it is a real army troop-carrier. FV 603 Saracen has 6 wheels and is produced by Alvis company. The car had to be modified slightly for the film. The car also can be seen in the film “Wing Commander” which appeared in 1999.
Lightning McQueen (”Cars”, 2006)
In the animated film “Cars”, created by Disney and Pixar, there are no people, but the world is full of vehicles. Lightning McQueen is the main hero, which got to a distant town
Radiator Springs by accident. Nevertheless lots of adventures are waiting for him in the town including falling in love with Porsche 911.
Jaguar XK8 “Shaguar” Convertible (”Goldmember”, 2002)
Despite the fact the even James Bond sometimes used foreign cars; Austin Powers was committed to British car only. In “Goldmember” he drives a unique Jaguar “Shaguar” with has a 4,2-litre 290 hp V8 engine.
Land Rover Defender 110 (”Tomb Raider”, 2001)
A classic Land Rover Defender 110 was the main character’s car (Lara Croft). The car was slightly modified for the car: it was equipped with a V8 engine and a satellite navigation system and a huge root on the roof.
Jaguar C-type (”Ocean’s 12″, 2004)
The unique C-type, which was built in a limiter series of 53 cars and had an ultra light aluminum body and a 260 ho engine - is another star of the movie. This car brought the first win at Le Mans to Jaguar.
Land Rover City Cab (”Judge Dred”, 1996)
The car is completely different to the serial version of Land Rover, nevertheless the company built 22 such cars specially for the film. Under the futuristic glass fibre body, which was created by Land Rover designers, there are parts of a military vehicle.
