The International North American Auto show in Detroit has just kicked off. It is one of the most important events in the auto business. The show has become one of the major opportunities for the companies to show their ultra modern concepts, which later on may become serial models. The American companies, as always, as at their best in Detroit. This year’s show hasn’t become an exception. Ford has shown two interesting models. One of them is an extraordinary concept Airstream, which looks more like a spacecraft than like a vehicle (the creators themselves claim that during the production of the car they has watched Kubrick’s “Space Odyssey” a couple of times). The second model is soon launched into the serial production - it is a new Ford Focus generation, built for the North American market only. The previous generation of Focus for the US and Europe looked much alike, but now these will be two different cars. Ford Focus

The GM stand is headlined by the sport model Chevrolet Camaro ?onvertible. The car is to appear on the market in a year together with the coupe version. The second novelty is the concept Chevrolet Volt. This class “C” vehicle (the European grade) is likely to be launched into the serial production in 2008. If it happens, the car may totally replace Chevrolet Lacetti on the market.
