New Citroen C5 is to be unveiled by the end of the year.

The French company is working of the new generation of C5. Worldcarfans.com informs that the premiere is to take place in Frankfurt in Autumn 2007.

The exterior of the novelty (which at the moment has the name X7) in comparison with the current generation will become more aggressive and the design will feature a number of straight lines and sharp curves. The length of the car will be 4,75 meters. Resembling C4 and C6 the new C5 will be equipped with a fixed central part of the steering-wheelThe new C5 will be equipped with a hydraulic suspension like the current C5. The engines, transmission and some other parts will be the same as Peugeot 407, nevertheless 99% of the exterior features will be unique.

It is expected that the diesel versions of C5 will be most popular in Europe. These engines include 4-cylinder 2.0 and 2.5-liter with 150 hp and 170 hp. The most powerful version is V6 2.7-liter with 208 hp.

The car will be available by the end of 2007. The car’s main competitor is the next generation of Renault Laguna.
