The auto show in Geneva will see the premiere of the first middle-class coupe, which got the name A5. The car is built on a brand new base which will be used for Audi A4 and A6 of the next generation. Audi A5 is slightly bigger than A4. ![]() According to the official photos of the novelty, the design is typical of the current Audi style. At the same time the appearance of A5 lacks the futurism of Audi TT. The novelty is equipped with rectangular front lights, typical radiator grille, and a little unusual side panels. For the time being A5 will be equipped with 2 6-cylinder engines: the new 3-liter turbodiesel and 3,2-liter FSI. A little later the engine line will be completed by a 8-cylinder petrol engine in two modifications (from Audi S4 and RS4). Accordingly the versions of A5 will come under the names S5 and RS5.

The 4WD version of the coupe will be only optional. The transmissions will include a 6-grade mechanic, Audi Multitronic CVT and S-tronic (DSG). More concrete data about the novelty is to appear a little closer to the show.
