4-time world rally champion Juha Kankkunen has set up the world record driving 4wd Bentley Continental GT. His max speed reached 321,65 kmph.

The previous record was set up in 1995 by Gildo Pallanca-Pastor, a businessman from Monako, who was able to accelerate Bugatti EB110 Supersport to 296,34 kmph.

Pallanca-Pastor’s record was beaten in almost-serial vehicle, and all the developments included the safety skeleton, a few aerodynamic features and snow tires Nokian. The engine hasn’t been developed.

The record was set up in the North on Finland, 50 km South to the city of Oulu at -30 Celsius. For the acceleration to the optimal speed the driver was given a 5-km section, and after that the car reached a 1-km section where the speed was checked. The record speed has been reached after 3 attempts.
