Ford plans to show the new Ford Flex crossover in New-York

Ford Motors officials claim that the new concept will inherit a couple of the Fairlane concept’s features (Fairlane was shown 2 years ago in Detroit). Flex is expected to replace Mercury Monterey and Ford Freestar in the model line of the company. The technical features haven’t been announced yet.

The serial production of Flex is to start in 2008. The company will built 100 000 per year. The novelty will be manufactured in Oakville in Canada.

The vehicle Acabion GTBO is able to accelerate to the maximum of 450 kmph, and the acceleration from 0 to 400 takes 20 seconds. The supercharged engine with 700 hp made such unbelievable features possible. The Swiss company, which designed the car, planns to build 26 copies in 4 years.

The body of Acabion GTBO is placed on the chassis, which is very similar to a bike chassis, with 2 small additional wheels behind to keep the car stable at a low speed. The power/weight ratio enables Acabion easily overtake such supercars as Koenigsegg CCXR, Pagani Zonda F, Bugatti Veyron and even Moto GP bikes.
