Volvo Treasure Hunt is not the name of a new soap-opera, but a huge marketing tactic of the Swedish manufacturer. Last year a similar contest was a roaring success. More than 100 000 people were engaged, and the winner got a new Volvo. This year the company decided to go on and conduct the hunt again.

The contest works like this:

  • The participants (the ones who want to win $50 000 and new Volvo XC90) first of all have to register HERE.
  • On registering each participant will receive email with further instructions
  • The contest is open until May 3
  • If you don’t receive the letter - you are not in! The next day the participants will receive tasks and puzzles, which they will have to solve
  • The further you get the more complicated the tasks are
  • The ones who will be able to get through the first 4 levels will be given a special identity card with the number (at the nearest Volvo dealer): you won’t be able to go on without the card.

The contest is taking place simultaneously in 22 countries. Gradually the number of participants will decrease and on June 2 the jury will name the winner. He will have to face one more task: lift the treasure chest with money and the keys to Volvo from the bottom of the ocean.

The treasure chest is lying on the ocean floor God knows where (as well as the organisers). Last year the winners were digging for the treasure with scoops in the sand: who was the first to dig got the car.
