Mercedes is planning to attack the north American market with the new modification of R-class crossover, rear wheels driven. Such a modification will cost less than 4WD version, which will attract new buyers.

They say that the new modification comes within facelifting of the whole R-class. The modernization will involve the exterior design, new interior features. It is expected that the car will come not only in 6-seat, but also in 7-seat variant. The engines include V8 5.5-liter (Like in S-class).

It is unknown if the car will be sold in Europe.
