Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster will be unveiled in September.

The rumor about the cabrio version of the supercar Mercedes SLR McLaren has finally been confirmed - Mercedes has spread the first data about the novelty. The new roadster is ready for production, and the first cars will be sold the lucky owners in September 2007.

Both coupe and roadster Mercedes SLR McLaren are made from carbon, the roof is made of textile with a carbon skeleton (the roof folds in 10 seconds). The process of folding is not totally automatized - the driver will have to manually undo the fastening between the front end of the roof and the windscreen.

The novelty is equipped with a 626-hp V8. The creators claim that the acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph takes 3,8 seconds, and the max speed is 330 kmph. At the same time the car is equipped with carbon brakes (the same as the coupe) and “air” brakes - the rear spoiler with changeable angle of attack.

The car will be constructed at MnLaren plans in the UK. The cost of the novelty will be around $700 000.
