![]() The new crossover by Ford, which is to replace Maverick, is likely to be called X-Max. The main competitors of the model will be Toyota Rav-4, Honda CR-V, Nissan X-Trail, Volkswagen Tiguan. The design of the novelty will be made in the style of the latest Ford models. Ford doesn’t hide that they will advertise the model not as a means of off-road driving, but as a 4WD sport car. It is no wonder, because if Ford had made X-MAX a full-scale SUV, then the car would have competed with the new generation of Land Rover Freelander (Land Rover is owned by Ford). The engine line will be quite rich including the top variant: supercharged 2.5-liter with 225 hp. But the major part of the cars will get 1.6- and 2.0-liter petrol or 1.8- and 2.0-liter diesels. According to some data, the preserial version of X-MAX might be shown in September in Frankfurt.
