Alfa Romeo is working on the new models for 2009.

By 2009 the company is planning to enlarge its models line by the new 149 and 169. The first sketches of the novelties are expected to be shown in Frankfurt or Bologna in December.

Alfa Romeo is planning to win the hearts of the young drivers by “Junior”. The 3-door car is targeted at 18-30 drivers and it will cost around euro 16 000 in Europe. The novelty will be built on the slightly developed platform of Punto with active suspension. The engine line features a supercharged 95-hp alongside the top variant - GTA 1.8-liter with 230 hp. The car will be equipped with a 6-grade mechanic.

The next novelty is Alfa Romeo 149, which is to replace Alfa 147. The car will be targeted at the older “audience”. The novelty will be based on Fiat Bravo platform. The engines will be between 120 and 265 hp. In its turn the GTA variant will be equipped with V6. The cost of the novelty in Europe starts from euro 28 000, because in comparison to 147 the integration has been greatly changed as well as the body.

More accurate data will be available before the Frankfurt auto show directly.
