A few more brand-new novelties from the motor show in Frankfurt: Alpina B6s (on the base of BMW M6), Porsche GT2 and Ople Flextreme Concept Porsche officially unveiled the new and most powerful in the 911 line – Porsche GT2. ![]() Only a few months ago all we could wee were spy shots. But now everything has come into reality. The new Porsche GT2 was demonstrated as a complete car ready to take all the possible positive and negative comments. The car us equipped with a bi-turbo 3.6-liter engine and a special titan exhaust system, which enables 530 hp and 680 Nm. Porsche GT2 is back wheel driven with 19-inch rims with front 325/30 tires. All these features allow the car to accelerate to 100 k.p.h. in 3.7 seconds and the max speed is 329 k.p.h. The fuel consumption is 12.5 per 100 km. ![]() As for the dynamics of the novelty, there are elements typical for the GT series: huge front bumper with air-intakes, wide wheel arches with “gills” and a gigantic rear anti-wing with special openings for cooling the engine. The serial version of the car will be equipped with electric 2-grade suspension system PASM, braking system PCCB with carbon-ceramic plates, sport seats of coal-plastic and all-leather interior. The basic price for Porsche GT2 in Germany will make 159.100 euro (189.496 euro with the 19% tax.) The novelty will be available for the drivers in October. ![]() ![]() ![]() The tuning manufacture Alpina showed the loaded version of BMW M6 – B6s in Frankfurt. ![]() The novelty has even higher indexes than the previous hit model – B6. Alpina showed 2 variants of the modification – for Coupe and Cabrio. Both the bundles include power increase from the basic 500 hp to 530 hp (the basic engine is 4.4-liter V8 compressor) and from 700 Nm to 724 Nm. The car is also equipped with a high-performance 6-grade automatic, which allows the car to accelerate to 100 k.p.h in 4.5 seconds and reach 318 k.p.h. (for the cabrio version it is 4.8 seconds and 313 k.p.h. accordingly). ![]() Alongside the filling the exterior of B6s was also refreshed. The major difference from the previous generation is the ultra-light cowling cover with 2 huge air-intakes. The car will be available by the end of 2007. The pricing in Germany starts from 119 410 euro for the coupe and 129 100 euro for the cabrio. ![]() Opel showed the green novelty Opel Flextreme in Frankfurt. ![]() In a few years the automotive market will be stuffed with hybrids, which are likely to develop into full-scale comfortable vehicles. The first steps were made long ago, but the material concepts and prototypes appeared comparatively recently. For instance GM showed 161-hp hybrid concept Chevrolet Volt Concept working on Li-ion batteries and 1-liter supercharged engine. Today the European division of GM – Opel – is unveiling the alternative hybrid vehicle - Opel Flextreme Concept. ![]() The car has been designed for the European market only and some kind of hatchback-crossover with a transparent top. Flextreme is equipped with a 1.3-liter turbodiesel and an electric engine placed in the front part of the body. The electric engine works on Li-ion batteries with the power reserve of 65 km.
