Mazda will show the new concept Mazda Furai in Detroit. The car is an extreme racing concept with a rotor ethanol engine (450 hp). Both the idea and especially its realization are brilliant. The specific design of the body is positioned as a kind of pre-preparation to what is going to arrive from the East in the near future. According to the manufacturers (Swift Engineering) and the designers, Mazda Furai has non analogs for its ideal aerodynamics. The chassis is based on the racing supercar Courage C65 (series ALMS); the body – carbon and coal plastic. The 450-hp engine is able to accelerate the car from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds, and the max speed is 310 km/h. The future of the novelty is vague as well as the approximate cost of the series (which is if fact possible).
The company Mercedes AMG is planning to widen the range of its custom roadsters by a new variant – SL 63 AMG and a restyled SL 65 AMG
It is expected that the novelties will be shown in Geneva and then will be available for purchasing. However, they say that you can offer the exclusive roadster even today. The new Mercedes SL 63 AMG that will replace the previous SL 55 AMG is equipped with a 525-hp V8 engine with 630 Nm of torque. Power train is carried out by a 7-grade sport automatic transmission. The 0-100 km/h acceleration takes 4.7 seconds, and the max speed – 250 km/h (limiter). As for the top variant, SL 65 AMG, the engine is the same (6.0-liter V12 with 612 hp) and the body has been modernized (just as well as SL 63 AMG). Both the models will get the restyled rear lights, a small boot spoiler, a slightly restyled bumper with a run-out, a typical cowling with air-pockets and the new series of custom 19-inch AMG rims (255/35 R 19 and 285/30 R 19).
