When you think about your or your kids education you define some guidelines that go in line with your life targets – what are those guidelines? In my case a few will be:

- reputable education institution where I can get
- profession in the area I would like to work
- with disciplines that I would like to research and
- expectations that the learning process could be fun (from time to time)

I have just named a few.

To give you a sample of an educational institution that meets the above guidelines have a look at Kettering University.

Are they reputable? Let’s have a look at their national rankings:

• # 1 - Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering,
• # 3 - Mechanical Engineering,
• #11- Overall ranking for Kettering University (up from #12 last year).

What disciplines do they teach? Well, they should be of interest to those prospects who feel inclined to research areas like industrial engineering

Can you expect some fun while spending your best young years at that University or is it likely to be the most boring years in your life?

The university offers an innovative from my point of view approach to education process that they label as co-op process - like engineering co-op programs. What is that?

It is a unique learning process to place students in companies in their freshman year and rotate them between school and their co-op job alternating every 3 months to gain practical experience from the beginning of their Kettering education.
