Brabus has unveiled the restyled roadster Mercedes SL SV 12 S
The smart boy! Brabus has proved one more time that the top of the tuning scene is deservedly owned by the guys from Bottrop – and that’s for sure. The new “male” in Brabus’ line is equipped with a boosted power unit borrowed from the model Rocket. The power of the 6.3-liter bi-turbo engine reaches the “moderate” 730 bhp and the torque is 1 320 Nm (which was electronically limited to 1 100 Nm). Power train – a modified 5-grade automatic with block-differential, which enables to keep hold of the wild nature of the car. Speed figures are impressive as well. Not to 100 km/h is dealt with in 4 seconds, and the max speed reaches 350 km/h. It should be mentioned that the running gear has been equipped with a modified system of clearance setting (the car got lower by 25 mm) and high-performance braking system with front 375-mm 12-pyston and rear 355-mm 6-piston plates. The wheels are booted in 20-inch rims with front 255/30 and rear 305/25 tires.
As for the exterior of the novelty, Brabus experts offer a special body-kit for the SL. The kit features a huge front bumper with additional anti-fog lights, channels with integrated LED-lightning, rear-end bumper and a few spoilers, run-out and a small anti-wing on top of the boot. Special attention should be paid to the chrome double pipes of the exhaust system. Technical Summary:
Carlsson SL500 CK50 – a “No-top” Carlsson
Two masters – two competitors. Carlsson and Brabus are really great tuners, with each model claiming to be the leader in its segment. I’ve written about one masterpiece by Brabus, and now it is high to time speak about Clarsson. The latest novelty by Clarsson - Carlsson SL500 CK50 is inferior to Brabus in the amount of power (435 bhp vs. 730 bhp). Nevertheless, the world of tuning is much more than jus bare power – there is style, performance, impression etc. Clarsson experts are undoubtedly good at all of this.
They say “clothes count for first impressions”, and Clarsson does its best to prove that the exteriors of its cars are impressive and exquisite – a front bumper with a lip and a spoiler, side skirts and a compact rear end part with a run-out and a spoiler on top of the boot. The package is rounded by the 2 double chrome exhaust pipes. As for the power unit, following the trustworthy scheme the experts implemented a new ECU into the 5.5-liter V8 engine, then added a modified air-filter and sport exhaust system. The result – 435 bhp and not to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. The max speed of Carlsson SL500 CK50 is 293 km/h. The car is equipped with high-performance braking system and “C-Tronic Suspension.” The wheels are booted in 20-inch Ultra Light 1/16 rims and front 255/30 and rear 305/25 tires. The interior is furnished with alcantara, leather, aluminum and carbon Technical Summary:

Weber F1 “Faster one” - smile, driver! In its substance Weber F1 is a unique supercar that, despite all the negative comments aimed at its design, got into shape and was unveiled as a brilliant car ready to be launched serially this summer. Weber F1 is a representative of an excellent fresh style. The Swiss did not miss their target – the novelty became a great result of the concept which was shoed back in 2007 in Monaco. The body – absolute exclusiveness, where the front end resembles some mustached merry fellow who can easily reach 400 km/h. Veyron competitor, isn’t it? Such brilliant performance features are enabled by the 900-bhp power unit with 7.1 liters bi-compressor V8 engine borrowed from Corvette. The max torque of the engine reaches as high as 1 050 Nm. The transmission is the development of Weber and it is represented by a sequential 6-grade semi-automatic with steering-wheel levers. Not to 100 km/h is dealt with in 2.5 seconds, not to 200 – 16.2 seconds. It seems impossible, doesn’t it? The secret of such figures is the body. It is a carbon bolide which weighs 65 kg (and the majority of the body’s weight fall on aluminum alloy parts). The brakes is high-performance ceramics represented by 380-mm plates and 12-piston supports. The wheels are covered with 20-inch rims with 285/25 and 325/25 tires. To cut the long story short, Weber F1 is a stunning car looking at which one can smile at the design and cry over the price – 995 000 euro. Who will be the first?
