Mercedes hasn’t yet announced the exact date of the premiere of the new compact crossover, which got the mane GLK (GLK stands for GL klein - small GL). The unofficial data claims that the debut of the novelty is to take place in either Frankfurt or Los-Angeles or Detroit. The latest possible variant is the next auto forum in Geneva.

The car is almost ready for serial production. According to the latest spy photos the car has got the final exterior design and is undergoing road tests in Nurnburgring at the moment. The experts and testing speed features of the novelty. As seen from the picture the car is compared to BMW X5.

GLK is built on C-class platform. The novelty uses the same 4WD system as C-class. As a result GLK will be a typical crossover with excellent maneuverability and comfort.

It should be mentioned that the similar car is being built by Audi. It is Q5, built on the platform of Audi A4.

Hummer Goes on with its Pickup Tests

The decrease of the interest towards the pickup body in the USA doesn’t prevent company from creating their new model. Hummer is testing the novelty H3T, which has been caught by auto spies recently.

The pickup is built on a longer base of the model H3. According to the photos the car has 4 doors (unlike the concept H3T, which had only 2). The Americans seem to realized that the double cabin is a more favorable variant.

The size of the root is 120×120 cm. The basic variant of the car doesn’t include tents or a solid cover, which come as options. The other options include a great number of containers - stationary and removable.

Hummer H3T is equipped with a 3.7-liter with 242 hp. Still there is a more powerful version with a 295 hp V8.

The official release of the car is planned in August 2008. The dealers will get the cars in the show-rooms a little late, in Autumn.
